The Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce (GWFCC) and also known as the “Fashion Chamber” is a 501c6 membership-based corporation whose long-term vision is to help support, promote and grow the DC fashion and retail industry. GWFCC’s mission is to brand Washington, DC as a global fashion destination by:

  • Creating a thriving fashion industry;
  • Promoting DC’s fashion designer talent and fashion retail boutiques;
  • Helping its members develop and grow their businesses;
  • Conducting international trade and development events; and
  • Attracting American and international designers and fashion labels and brands to DC

Miami International Fashion Week

March 18 – 21, 2010

Miami International Fashion Week® (MIFW) is the largest International fashion event in the US celebrating both Latin and general market fashion, beauty, music, art, cuisine and culture. MIFW merges international celebrities and entertainers with designers from around the world bringing together some of the most celebrated artists such as Shakira, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Carlos Ponce, Patricia Field and Albita. Hundreds of international media register to attend the event each year providing a global platform for over 60 of the world’s best established and emerging designers who gather in Miami to participate in this world class event.

THE ATLANTA FASHION INCUBATOR is hosting the 2nd International Conference of Fashion Incubators

November 12 – 14, 2009

This fall AFi will host the Second International Conference of Fashion Incubators. Industry and fashion experts are gathering in Atlanta, GA, USA for a thought provoking two day conference at the W Hotel – Buckhead.  The first conference, held in 2007 in Rochester, UK, aimed to examine the role of incubators in nurturing new fashion businesses and encouraging creativity.  The Atlanta Fashion Incubator’s raison d’etre is to provide an international forum for the exchange of new ideas and perspectives on fashion and business education at the incubation level.  This year’s conference is designed to develop strategies for our mutual success, a platform of best practices, a communication network, economic development and a potential exchange program.

Fashion Business, Inc (www.fashionbizinc.org) (FBI) is a non-profit organization that was founded to assist designers and new apparel companies achieve their goals of becoming a successful and profitable company. FBI Resource Centers, along with its website and business partners, offer business education, technical training, sourcing, networking, marketing and consulting services.
